What is Vinyl Club America?
Where friends meet to share legendary music. Vinyl Club America is a resource for vinyl enthusiasts to meet, talk music, share stories, swap records, and savor the nostalgia.
Vinyl Club America started with a group of friends in Kansas City who got together monthly to spin vinyl and talk about the music that shaped their lives. Over the years, the group began meeting throughout the Midwest to attend concerts. As membership continued to grow...Vinyl Club America was born. We are Metal fans, Blues fans, Jazz fans, Country fans, Rockabilly fans, and, of course, Rock-and-Roll fans from every era.
This website serves as a jumping point for all things Vinyl Club America. Use this site to meet other music lovers, join the conversation, help document music history, and more. Who knows? Maybe you’ll find some other like-minded folks in your area and start your own record swap offline. Or maybe you’ll finally snag that hard-to-find record from a kindred spirit across the pond (yes, we have a growing international following).
It’s all here on Vinyl Club America.

Who is johnnyrocko?
Born and raised in a music loving family, Vinyl Club America Founder John Muller has music in his blood.
He has fond memories growing up on the big band and dixieland jazz of his parents -- but that was before rock and roll got into his soul.
He remembers branching out on his own and buying his very first record at the age of 10.
“It was 1967 and I used my allowance money to buy a Diana Ross & The Supremes album,” he said. “I still have that album.”
That was all it took and John was hooked. In his teens, twenties, and beyond he spent most of his free time hanging out in record stores and his collection blossomed exponentially. In his youth he was especially enamored with the sounds of early gospel and rock such as Chuck Berry, Little Richard, and Jerry Lee Lewis as well as music of the early 1960s including Bob Dylan and The Beatles.
His all-time top three favorite musicians are The Rolling Stones, Pink Floyd, and Van Morrison, the last of whom he “would walk through glass for.” He has seen all three in concert countless times and has personally met Van Morrison and The Rolling Stones “I’ve spent hours on two different occasions with the Rolling Stones. One of those times was during the VooDoo Lounge Tour on Sunday September 11, 1994 at Soldier Field in Chicago. I took a drum head with me and each of the Stones signed it and Ronny Wood drew some doodles on there for me. I have it mounted on my wall to this day.”
John has been to literally hundreds of concerts and has seen some truly legendary musicians. His top three dream concerts would have to be James Brown at The Apollo; Jimi Hendrix at Montrose; and, of course ... Woodstock!
Always happy to share in the enjoyment of his record collection -- the new, the old, and the rare -- John looks forward to meeting new members of Vinyl Club America and sharing in the appreciation of timeless music and the warm sounds of vinyl.
